Materials:
1 1/2 yds. and a
bit of Cotton-blend material (Flannel is great)
1 1/2 yds. Cotton-blend
material
(The bottom piece
of material needs to be a bit larger than the top)
A few yards of material
and needle
1 yard batting
1) Lay the bottom of the quilt on the floor and place the batting on top.
2) Place the top material on the top of the batting.
3) Fold over the extra edging from the
bottom piece of material.
Tuck under the edge about 1/2" and pin
all the way around the quilt.
Sew all the way around with Sewing machine,
or can be done by hand.
4) Take needle and yarn and tie the quilt
with knots. Our diagram shows
squares but this can be done on a large
single piece of material also.
This diagram just shows how to create
the knots.
To do this, go through top of quilt, to
the bottom leaving a 2" tail on top,
and making sure you go through all layers.
Bring needle and yarn back
up to the top and cut off leaving a 2"
tail. Tie these 2 tails into a square knot.
Repeat this about every 4" all over quilt
top.
